Default LLama Question

As I have stated before, I try to be very careful in what I do as I don't have the benefit of living within the culture of European football.

In America, GMs in other sports routinely talk to each other about players. How routine is it for a Manager to call up a counterpart somewhere to find out say who's available for loan? Therefore, while I would never peruse the roster of another team looking at their attributes, would it be ok to "burn up the phone lines looking for loan listed players?

In my opinion.

In Real life, fairly common.

In FM impossible to model: so a no no.

As the room-temperature poof said, it's a question of modelling it within FM. In real life this sort of thing goes on all the time, particularly regarding the younger players who could do with a bit of 1st team football.

In FM, the search for Loanees is a grey area, simply because most of the ways of looking for them are tied closely in with some of the less LLM-appropriate methods of player searching.

Some would suggest you only approach those players your scouts have identified as potential Loanees. Some others might suggest being a bit more lenient if you've got a pressing need for a player in a certain position (eg. an injury crisis etc).

Iajafer's standard response is appropriate here: Let your conscience be your guide /JiminyCricket

What he said.

But just play the game how you feel is realistic at the end of the day every LLama has a slightly different way of playing the game. It's about keeping true to the spirit of realism

Give a Little Whistle could almost be adopted as a LLaMa anthem:

When you get in trouble and you don't know right from wrong
Give a little whistle! Give a little whistle!
When you meet temptation and the urge is very strong
Give a little whistle! Give a little whistle!

Not just a little squeak, pucker up and blow
And if your whistle's weak, yell, "Jiminy Cricket!"
Right!

Take the straight and narrow path
And if you start to slide
Give a little whistle! Give a little whistle!
And always let your conscience be your guide

Dang, that's good singin'

I'm thinking that I can look at rosters with the Transfer view. That way I'm only talking to my counterparts about that specific condition. If I see a player listed as listed for loan, I can send my scout to check him out. If the scout thinks he's worthwhile, I can approach for a loan. That sounds safe to me.

I like the sound of that:

"Jiminy Cricket sings the Sonnets of Shakespeare"

Number one on the album charts first week
