Season 2009/10

Berwick Rangers - Scottish First Division

More cradle snatching again to grab some more future stars...signed 12 youth team players but only 2 made it into the first team with the others going into the reserves. An update on my two phenoms - they reached 17 so I tied them down to a five year part-time contract of under £100 each...they'll be ****ed off in five year times if we're in the Champions League .

Basically the same team as the previous seasons but I didn't bother laoning any people this season as no-one good enough for this League wanted to come to me.

Came 1st in the Tweedmouth Cup -highlight beating a fairly strong Sunderland side in the final. Strangely, I was approached by the media hailing this achievement and wondering my thoughts on the title next year...I declined to comment.

Claimed some great scalps against former SPL sides in the Challenge Cup (ICT, Kilmarnock) before being knocked out in the Third Round by Airdrie United. This is probably the easiest trophy to win but I've never had a sniff.

In the League cup, I went on holiday and consequently the side lost 3-0 to Third Division outfit Queen's Park in front of an eery Hampden Park...I haven't been on holiday since.

The benefits of being in the First Division are immense as I got a bye into the 3rd round (where Old Firm enter) - I walloped St Mirren 5-0 (with my phenoms scoring all five between them). Then, finally, I drew the Old Firm in the 4th round. I got a home tie money spinner against Rangers. I had been awful against rangers as Hibs in the early days but I gave thema bloody good game this time around. We lost 3-2 and after this game I received numerous offers and enquiries about most of my young starlets...I decided to avoid the money and keep them in a bid to go all out for SPL promotion.

It was a good, close League season in which ourselves and Partick Thistle battled it out at the top. With the young gems I'd picked up I must admit that I expected promotion (despite board/supporters/media expecting relegation) so it was rleief when I won the League by two points at the end of the season. I thought I blew it with a 1-1 draw at the end but Partick had lost so they missed the chance to go up.

After going up I was disappointed as, if all goes to plan, I will never play in the Challenge Cup again.

Scottish 1st Div: 1st, 22-6-8, 70-44, 72 pts
Scottish Cup: 4th round by Rangers
League Cup: 1st Round by Queen's Park
Challenge Cup: 3rd Round by Airdire United
Old Firm: Celtic retain SPL by three points, No Scots Cup final prescence...Rangers win 2-1 in extra time in League Cup final.

One wasn't eligible to play until November and the other until mid 2008. I also just grabbed the rest of the unattached players that I could at Wales and N. Ireland and got my scouts to check out the unattached players that they had missed out in the initial search...
I can't work out exactly why, but this paragraph is making me feel uncomfortable. </BLOCKQUOTE>

My lexis isn't very comforting is it? Kiddies, 15 year olds, cradle snatchers et al.

Season 2010/11

Berwick Rangers - Scottish Premier League

Wasn't much talent out there on the youth market so I decided against the free transfers. I decided to use the sapre change from upgrading the training facilites to the top level with academy to venture into the foreign market. I ditched history and the Tweedmouth Trophy for a tour of Brazil and Argentina...basically a holiday as there was only two games in each country...not too shabby for an SPL team...saving all that prize money came in handy. I couldn;t really play any big teams so I resorted to playing some local teams from Rio and Buenos Aires...picked up a regen AMLC and a DM from Argentina and Brazil, respectively (the Brazilian was the club's record signing of £200,000). I was hoping they'd bring South American Style to a British side. I was happy with pre-season but I was bemused when Roma decided to use Shielfield Park as a branch of their tour of Scotland...excellent! I built up a relationship with their manager and picked up a 18 year old DM on £70,000. Only the Argentinian was a success and I'm now looking to offload the Italian and Brazilian flops.

No Challenge Cup this year, so the first cup was the League Cup - reached the Third Round before meeting Celtic and going out 6:2 following going a goal up.

In the League I did well in my maiden SPL season. I had been in the top half most of the season but a bad spell in form coincided with my Argentinian winger's injury...I slipped to 7th and missed the split on goal difference to former club Hibs. I finished 7th though so found consolation in the fact that I was in the intertoto cup.

The BIG news now. I reached the Scottish Cup final...but met Celtic there I couldn't decide on which tactics to employ as I'd lost against the Old Firm on every occassion...so I stuck with the same side/tactics that had gone 1-0 up in the 6-2 defeat to Celtic in the League Cup. We fought bravely but...there's always next year. (bad picture)

Hopefully I'm in UEFA Cup proper by being in the final against a Champions League qualifier...time will tell.

Scottish Prem: 7th, 13-10-15, 62-66, 49 pts
Scottish Cup: Runners Up - lost to Celtic 4-1
League Cup: Third Round to Celtic
Old Firm: Celtic win SPL with 100 points, Celtic win Scots Cup , Celtic win Champions League, Celtic lose to St Johnstone 1-0 in the final (big shock) to just miss out on the quadruple.

I'm sorry, but those updates are a bit too long for me to read.

Okay so you start in the SPL. Go down to the Scotish third division, and after three successive promotion you are back in the SPL. You are doing stories rather than updates, and you watch international youth team games rather than letting your scout find the players.

Sorry I am in the wrong forum I’m going back to LLM.

Pretty much what Gil said. Admittedly, having not read more than a dozen or so words something doesn't smell right.

I've not read his updates but the fact he's a fan of Big Brother has put me right off him.
