So my first venture into LLM FM206, I want to manage in Italy, Frank sends me to Igea Virtus Barcellona in the Serie C2/C. All Italian leagues loaded with a huge database.

Igea Virtus - Season 2005/2006 - Serie C2/C

Board expectations: To stay clear of relegation.
Players in: 8
Players out: 2

After a slow start we rally towards the end of the season, culminating in a 9 game unbeaten run towards the end of the campaign, which leads to a 3rd place finish in the league and a place in the end of season playoffs.

An all Sicilian playoff final with Vittoria, we get promoted with a 3-2 aggregate win.

Serie C2/C - Pos:3 Pld:34 Won:19 Drn:7 Lst:8 For:68 Ag:31 GD37 Pts:64 (Promoted playoffs)
Coppa Italia Serie C - Second round

Igea Virtus - Season 2006/2007 - Serie C1/B

Board expectations: To win Serie C1/B
Players in: 26 (mainly schoolboys to develop U20s)
Players out: 8

A season long battle with Perugia and Avellino culminates in a vital home game with Perugia which we take 1-0. We take the league title by 1 point on the last day of the season.

Serie C1/B - Pos:1 Pld:34 Won:22 Drn:4 Lst:8 For:65 Ag:38 GD27 Pts:70 (Promoted champions)
Coppa Italia Serie C - Second round
C1 Super Cup - Winners (away goals)
U20s - Champions

Igea Virtus / New Zealand - Season 2007/2008 - Serie B

Board expectations: To battle bravely against relegation
Players in: 14
Players out: 17

A fight from the off, the step between the 2nd and 3rd tiers of Italian football is immense. The season started with Igea full routed to the bottom of the table with San Marino, a 13 game streak without winning at the start until the 28th October saw the side fulfilling the early season predictions. The team (and me) finally settled into life with the nearly big boys and soon began catching up those above. In the end we finished 17th, 1 point above the relegation play-outs, all thanks to a shocking end of season collapse from Torino (they have been relegated to Serie C with 3 managers taking charge throughout the season).

Serie B - Pos:3 Pld:42 Won:10 Drn:16 Lst:16 For:45 Ag:49 GD-4 Pts:46
Coppa Italia - Second qualifying round
U20s - Champions

I decide to apply for the New Zealand managers job, which is shortly offered, I accept.

OCE Nations Cup - Winners 9-0 agg win over New Caladonia.

Strange board expectations... How can they expect to win the league if you've just promoted?

Nice work, KUTGW

Thats my mistake, 17th we finished!

The board expectations in the second season were very strange, I thought that back to back promotions would be very hard, perhaps they knew something about the squad I didn't! I felt that there was not that much diference in quality between the two tiers of Serie C, but the jump to Serie B is very tough.
