The World Cup 2006 ended when Switzerland Beat Ireland. The Next world cup starts in 4 years time, why are we still talking about the 2006 tournament?

I think the Dutch are strong candidates, Harwin, if they can avoid their usual infighting.

Ha ha, it's such a travesty we're not going to Germany, but the players never looked up for it under Kerr and of course, the loss to France cost us dear. Hopefully there will be a turn-around come qualifying for Euro 2008, but we can't afford any more of Staunton's "experiments" to go wrong if we intend on getting there.

Well, Togo have won 'Miss World Cup 2006', if that's any sort of omen to go by.

Their 1-0 win over Liechtenstein is unlikely to strike too much terror into the hearts of their opponents, though.

Ugh. Now when I was about to suggest Trinidad and Tobago

Oh, what about Cups Suck Arse?

I hope Brazil win it, and hope Italy or Germany don't win. They play shitty football. For me the world cup is kind of over when Brazil are out, so I really hope the win it again.

The usual teams are among the favourites, but will be interesting to see who's this year's upset.

I'm going for Spain. I want to see flair triumph over dour (read Germany).

I want Poofland to make the semi's amd loose on penalties to Germany with the skipper hoofing it in to crowd to gift Germany the win.
