Season 2009-10

Finished 4th in League 2. Missed out on automatic promotion, due to a very dodgy spell towards the end of the season (5 defeats in a row), but I did win my last two games to cement a playoff position. In the end however, I bowed out of the playoff semis - 2-0 on agg to Rochdale. :thdn:

Highlight of the season - undoubtedly a 2-1 at Blackburn in the FA Cup 3rd round - they were 5th in the PL at the time, so it's probably got to go down as one of my 'best ever' results, on CM/FM. I've saved that match for posterity. I lost 1-0 at home to Sheff Weds in the 4th round - didn't even get the game televised !

The money situation is looking good - I've sold on a few young players who I picked up for pennies, to bigger clubs. It's allowed me to renegotiate my contract, and also get the board to upgrade the training facilities again (average at the mo).

I've applied for a few jobs at higher league clubs, but without success. My rep did briefly jump to 'Local' after my win at Blackburn, but it's now back down to 'obsure'.

For next season - I'd like another promotion push, but I'm going to have to make a couple of important signings in the summer. I'm after an experienced CB, and also a quick AMR.

Hopefully though, a chance to manage a bigger club will materialise.

I've just had my most emphatic FM result, and probably all time, tonight. Not been playing a super-tactic (against LLM rules) - but it's just astounded me. Before I post it, am I allowed to share, or would that be construed as bragging ? :o

I'm not sure if I've encountered a bug, Ian - but I've just anihilated Coventry (who are also in League 2), 10-0 away from home. As I said, I'm not playing some daft tactic, so I don't know if I've just had an exceptional day, or I've encountered a glitch ?

Forgot to add that I told my players that 'I wanted them to play like that everyweek', and it seems to have had a detrimental affect on my team morale.

I've heard of a high scoring bug, but it's usually an ongoing problem and prior to v6.0.1.

I'd mark it down as a WAHGERTY!11 and walk tall for a few days

I think I've just had a freak result - I hope it's not a bug !

Attendances are OK - think I averaged around the 2200 mark, last season.
