Now in the Conference National I decided it was time to improve my staff, so I added an Ass. Man and upgraded my physio. I also spent a bit of money for a change with a new Nigerian CB and a young midfielder slipping into the first eleven. After these dealings I had high hopes that this team could finish mid-table, how wrong I was, it took nineteen games for my first win. :eek:

After our first win we managed a couple of brief flirtations with form, enough so to bring us periodically off the bottom of the table and within a shot of avoiding relegation. However, we really blew our chances with a five game streak of draws all which we could of realistically won. Unfortuately we succummed to my first ever CM/FM relegation finshing rock bottom by 7, 19 clear of safety. The only positives were a 16-year old CM and my big SC who managed 18 goals and another fans POTY.

Btw, if you read this Nobby, Billericay were also relegated, so at least I got some pleasure out of that. In fact, we're starting to build up somewhat of a rivalry in my game!

The board placed high expectations on us this year, although I was pretty confident we could meet them. I found a couple of good signings including an exciting young forward from West Ham and I had to spend a bit off money on a M C after my good young 16 year old MC defected to Staffard on a free. Bastard.

We started a bit shakey and took about five games to get going but once we did we fairly quickly moved up to top spot. We managed to hold this for quite some time until our nemisis Billericay passed us with five games to go. With three games to go we led only on goals scored. However, they lost their next match and we won by 3 points.

The cups weren't much to speak about. The league win was financially needed as our balance has been plumetting towards zero due to our crowds doing the same. Hopefully next year sees an upturn in both. Fans POTY was once again the former Leyten Orient SC who won it for the third time in a row after 21 goals. His strike partner also contributed 24 in a high scoring year.
