Andy did have a right to be here, until some recent posts of his started suggesting LLM might not be the best place for him.

Anyway, you'll notice I didn't quote your post specifically, it was a more general rant from my part.

As far as I'm concerned (and all this is my personal opinion, many may disagree with me), people can post here as long as they don't break the forum rules; even if one isn't interested in LLM, their opinions on more general subjects should be welcome here, and not subject to immidiate rejection based on the person's posting history.

If, however, one is interested in LLM, it is required of them to stop posting in and reading the forums that contravene the LLM Ethos. Same as you were asked to, same as many people, me included, have done in the past. That's all.

Good to see you back btw, you've been AWOL for a while.

Thanks, it's good to be back.

And fair enough - I see your distinction.

Sorry, Andy. You were saying?

Andy has always been a special case and can't be used as an example, but I appreciate you're not familiar with his history.
But you see Kostis, I don't have much problems with new guys posting at TT or GPG or whatever forum and the quit. I have problems with persons that don't quit to post at those forums after reasonable amount of time and still mouth off here.

Sorry for +1, but I have a need to elaborate my statement.

Why do I have problems with those people here? For starters, since they visit TT or GPG or whatever forum, I don't count them as part of LLM. Why? Mainly because their knowledge is tainted and even more, are probably hanging around those forums to see help, ideas etc. from the others. Which, as you know, is breaking at least one rule of LLM.
So, I say, if they want to chat, there is perfectly good OTF on SI. Go there. I don't want neither to hear or read their blanter here.

So you're saying we should never accept a newbie in ths forum if he has ever posted in T&TT and/or GPG?

Plenty of the current regulars have posted there. I know what you mean about them being tainted, but that's what the new versions of the game are for. People start afresh then whether they like it or not. In the meanwhile, yes, they will be 'tainted', and I, for one, am prepared to live with that.

If someone really wants to convert to the LLM playstyle, they'll do so, and it will show soon enough in their posts. If we never give them the chance and flame them away the moment they set foot in here, we'll never get new LLM'ers. Simple as that.

Why are you saying "but, Kostis.." when you basically are saying the same thing as me?

That's right. It's the people that go back and forth who should be evicted.

Also, some people who do post here are not llamas (not many) but are accepted, because they never take part in llama discussions or post their updates. If they try, they get flamed and rightly so.

Well, just to clarify once more ....

I just took a look at the LLama rules & guidelines at the head of the forum for the gazillionth times and there is still nothing in it that forbids visits to the T&T forum. The rules forbid tactic naming and downloading tactics, neither of which I've ever done.

I do now appreciate and accept the further logic that visiting the forum is not in the spirit of LLama, but that is outside the frames of reference of the rules and guidelines, therefore I simply maintain that I've been flamed for an offence that is not infringing the rules.

As am I. This is why I haven't started an update thread - I still consider myself 'tainted' until FM07 comes out.

Andy - you were hardly flamed, were you? And I did apologise for my part. Consensus seems to be that you can post as long as you don't upset the LLaMas, so shut yer bloody whingeing up mate. This aint the place for crybabies, you should know that

Perhaps if you apologised to Kov and Guinness and the other LLaMas you've upset, then maybe they'd be more willing to accept you... you know, diplomacy and all that.
