Of course it is to us, but to the majority it is about winning and signing big names and diamond formations etc. I've just had the most exhilirating season ever, snaking my way into the play offs on the last day. I won the Play off final, but felt dejected because it was a poor match. I felt I owed my fans more after the journey we'd been through.

It's about getting the LLM virgins to think like that and to not be afraid of defeat.

Unfortunately, with our current generation you will not get many people thinking this way. The majority want instant gratification and will cheat their way to victory every time.

On other games forum, what is the most common thread posted. "What are the cheat codes for the game". In this forum it is " Recommend some cheap players for me".

In another game forum I find that what we call LLM they call the "Iron Man" game. No cheating , no save and reload, no exploits, play on the hardest level only and if you can win that way, you really feel that you have earned it.

You are preaching to the converted here but I think you will the lone voice in the wideness back in the rest of the gaming world.

I think it has a lot to do with youths not being encouraged to stretch themselves anymore.

No more streaming in classrooms, no more competitive sports days etc.

Kids don't want to challenge themselves now so the idea of LLM, Frank's Challenge, 'Iron man' or whatever you want to call it just doesn't appeal

Nah. It is not that. Kids are used to get everything they want or have everything they want now. Not with some time, not with some work. They want it now, preferably free and they don't want to do a thing about it.
This type of behaviour is known as Line of least resistance. The point in getting the things you want as soon as possible with as little work as possible. Some sort of Machiavellism, tbh. The goal gratifies the means etc.

We all know that being a LLaMa does not mean sudden success. And that also is a problem. Everyone wants their success instantly. Failure is not an option. That is bullshit. But that is what our society teaches us.

We managed to convince the staff of our forum to give us a LLaMa forum and after much begging they obliged. We set out all the guidlines, correct links etc, but no one seemed interested. I posted the above article, got a few good responses. But the thing that has really got people interested is reading other people's tales of how exhilirating LLM can be. Since I've started mine we've now gone on to about 15 others, which from my perspective is very good considering it's only been open a week or so.

People aren't always as shallow as we think they are, we just have to appeal to them in the right way.

There's no doubt that modern society tends to make our younger generation lazy, but the article is good because if it converts a few then they may convert a few more and they convert... and so on.

As a youth worker I run schemes which challenge young people and although we often have difficulty selling them intially, the enthusiasm and sheer exhilaration of the kids when they do go for these things is well worth the effort. Just because society is dumbing down to the lowest common denominator, doesn't mean we shouldn't try to reverse that, in however small a way.

I don't like success, as I have been told that it is overrated

But yeah, I have tried to get some friends to play FM, and they all start with the big teams and cheat their way to succes Even my brother, blood of my blood, quits and restarts once in a while
