I had a look at the Primera Liga in my save last night, to see if this was happening and it would appear not.

I did notice that the second division was dominated by "B" teams, who are not eligible for promotion to the top flight, as a result the team finishing seventh or iirc occasionally eigth would get promoted and then sink like a stone the following year!

Barcelona still dominate (although we have loosened their stranglehold over the last few seasons), but Real Madrid actually got relegated two seasons ago.

The only AI controlled side to rise to prominence has been Numancia.
