Ok here's one for you. If i am wanting to maybe take a look at another team to see if they have a player i may or may not like. I go watch the game. I let my Assman be in charge  and choose the team  for the day of the game then let him take the half time talk and put the game speed way way up. After my match has been done i then go to the fixtures screen and watch the game i wish to see. I take notes of anyone who looks good then get my scout(s) to check up on them once or twice to get their opinion cause after all i have only seen the player once.

That is the only way i have come up with to represent a manager going to watch a player. Normally i've heard of a player through the press or something and decide to take a look myself but it isn't something that gets done alot for obvious reasons.

It's been said more times then i've had hot dinners........

But play the game in the way YOU feel is most realistic. This forum gives you guidlines and opinions but at the end of the day there is no definitive style of LLM play, just do what you feel is best and most of all enjoy it, afterall its just a game and you shouldnt let poofs like us ruin your FM-life

And exactly how many managers have you heard of that abandon their team on match day in order to go and watch another team's game IRL?

good point but how many managers IRL manage a club and country at the same time?

It does happen i know that for a fact due to where my seat is at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium i see a few managers sitting in the VIP area every so often. Yes even when their team is playing at the same time and no not when they are playing Caley. It isn't something i do often but it something that i do.

I don't think watching other teams' matches AND playing your own's to be against realism, once you've reache a high level.

You can watch the game that was on TV, for instance. I don't do it, neither want to, bu it doesn't sound completely unrealistic to me.

To be honest you can just watch the extended highlights of any match you choose after your own, so I don't see the point in taking the day off and letting your assman in charge.

It is just my way of doing something slightly different if i feel like doing so. It's not something i do often but occasionally i like to see a match with a player who interests me to see how he does in the game and also to see how my opinion differs with the scouts. It's just another way of seeing a player in a match setting other than using the trial option.
Mainly cause i hate using trialists unless i'm in pre-season and even then the players are rarely fit enough to judge properly

I do remember a couple of occasions where a Premiership manager has left his Assistant in charge for a game so that he could watch a player (usually based overseas) in a competitive match.

It's rare, but it does have precedence.

I see where this is going. Actually, I think you guys are taking your ideas from stereotypes, not from the real game. Anyone who's ever had contact with the subtleties of the real thing would beg to differ.

Well, good luck.
