Default Using Loans in a Fictional Universe

I don't think I am asking for tipping given that I run in a ficitonal universe (I'm not sure ... the definition of "tipping" seems different depending on what thread you read). Anyway, I'm having a llm problem and I just want some advice. [End Disclaimer]

So, I'm noticing that my competition is continually running out players that they've gotten on loan, and that these players are much better than my guys, and whenever I try to loan a player, even if the team accepts my offer, the player derisively refuses to come to my squad. So I end up playing with mainly my guys and like one loaner who starts and another who backs up. Usually these guys aren't even all that good, mainly just fillers for injury problems and whatnot that I can't fix until after the transfer deadline opens up again. Meanwhile while the other side is going with a full complement of loaners against me ... and then I loose unless I acheive tactical mastery.

So this begs two questions: 1) what is the computer doing in terms of player research and procurement that I am not? 2) Is it possible to compete and win using a minimal number of loaned players? I often feel that my side is capable of beating any other team in my league (right now its English League 2) when at full strength ... which is rarely is. (not so much from trainig, just in game knocks and things). My depth comes from my reserve squad and under 18s, my oponents' depth seems to come from the Championship League.

Any thoughts or theories?

Yes, I rarely loan players.

Shouldn't that be 3? And how could it come from CL? Do you mean they loan players from teams who are in the CL? For some reason (reputation, etc.) the AI always has an advantage in loans and signings.

Not CL, Championship, me thinks

I almost never loan players. Either they're mine or they aren't!

I have to agree with the NJ bloke. The AI cheats. If you notice when you start the game it builds shortlists for each active team. So from day one and every day thereafter, it has players listed as loan targets that you will rarely find using the llama methodology.

I can win without using loaners, so it is possible. But, I like to use them when I can find them. The trick (tip? not sure, hope this is within bounds) is to set your scout on teams that are geographically local and above you in the pyraid, and he should turn up some player(s) that you can loan in if you want.
