Evo does have a point if the aim is to 'play as realistically as the game allows', as the game does allow you to get a list of all transfer listed players as per Evo's RL example.
However, I agree with Ian, for maybe different reasons. Along with the 'realism' tag, I get the impression that most people are LLM because they want some depth of challenge. The game constantly teeters on the border between too easy and not.
IMO this version is the best balancing act yet, but does err slightly on the easier side should you utilise all the tools the game gives you.
I know that my save would have been a lot easier had I been able to look for players as Evo has suggested, and frankly I don't want that.
Therefore I do think that besides a slavish duty to realism, LLM guidelines should also take into account issues of balance, much as the developers do. If, as in this case, a change to LLM guidelines would unbalance the play too far, then it shouldn't be used.
