I do that same 'role-play' thing too, Ignats.
However, one of the things I'm wary of is that the game can become too easy all too quickly. I've been playing FM, more or less in the spirit of LLM (although not knowing what that was until recently, not completely), since it first came out on the Amiga, and every single version has eventually got a bit tired because it became all a bit auto-pilot easy after a while.
Having now discovered a consistent (more or less) set of guidelines which allow me to play the game in a consistently challenging way, from my point of view I'd rather err on the side of caution than risking spoiling my own enjoyment, just for the sake of realism... kind of the opposite direction from how you're viewing it - you won't restrict yourself because you want total realism, I'm prepared to sacrifice a little bit of realism to ensure I get more challenge from the game.
Neither is right or wrong - each to our own.
