Season 2015
Sandvikens IF – Division 2 North

The second season with Sandviken, started with a signing of a solid young AMC/FC. The young AMC/FC came over on a free from Friska Viljor and had a solid season for us. The pre-season went smooth, with only one loss. One of the pre-season wins came against my former team Tyresö FF, who we beat 4-0.

For the first time I managed to get past the first round of the Swedish Cup. A hard fought 3-2 win over Forward, where one of the center defenders scored during extra time. In the second round of the cup, we faced Allsvenskan outfit, Örgryte. In a game where our goal scoring central defender, found the net in the 92nd minute to send it to extra time, after a scoreless extra time, the game was decided on penalties. A penalty shoot-out where we scored once, while Örgryte scored twice to win it.

The league looked pretty much like last season, we started out well, just to find ourselves falling in the table thanks to some crappy games. However with five games left to play, we still had a chance to be promoted, but our inability to score goals during the latter part of the season. Once again reared its ugly head and we had to settle for 4th place. Only 6 points from promotion.

Season 2016
Sandvikens IF – Division 2 North

After a good pre-season were we beat Assyriska 5-1, the season started with a Swedish Cup game against Kinna, a game we lost 2-1 after extra time. Despite the loss in the cup, we started the season on a high note. Five straight wins and an eight games unbeaten streak saw us go top of the table. And despite two loses halfway trough the season, we hanged onto the top position. Then when we were starting to pull away, we draw against Boden (placed second to last) and lost against last placed Piteå. A winless streak that continued into a five game stretch, so with three games left to play we were four points behind the leaders. Then we finally regained our old form, and won 5-0, 4-0 and in the last game 2-0 against the league leading Kiruna. A win that saw us go top of the table on goal difference, and gain promotion!

For the first time, everything worked in Sandviken. Our strikers scored goals, and the defenders actually defended the net. Our 23 year old captain, lead the way with 14 goals. Good enough for the top scoring position in Division 2 North. And our veteran polish striker, who has been with the team since the stoneage, finished third in the league with 11 goals.

On defense the 21 year old centerback, who joined on a free three seasons ago, was a rock, with his 7.45 rating and 4 MoM awards.

Now we will see how things go in Division 1. Everyone is signed, and we are under budget. And thanks to a nice transfer of a defender, we have some money in the bank.
