I've been playing some more football manager lately, LLM only obviously.
Everyone seems to think cups suck, and there are reasons for it, so many llm managers play there reserves team.
Now i wonder, would that be realistic? Would the fans and board not blame you in real life. Or would the first team players blame you because you didn't give them a chance in the cup?
Depends what's more important for the team, if they need money then cup runs are a good way to get a money boost. But if the league is the priority and money not so much of a worry then maybe they would sacrifice the cup.
I always play a strong team in cups, but also give youth a chance, because that happens IRL too. Only fielding a bunch of useless reserves seems a bit unrealistic to me...
It's not unrealistic. Cups suck @ss, they're an unwelcome distraction from the real business of seeking promotion, they tire your players, they attract injuries, they're not worth anything to an LLM team unless it's the FA Cup, and only then if you draw a big team away.
I've explained before, I'll explain again. It's not worth while hobbling your chances of promotion in the vain hope of drawing ManUre at OT.
