Default A different type of LLM game...

well not really but in my Histon game I have set my own guideline of only signing British staff and players (Rep. of Ireland counts too). I have already noticed that it feels more satisfying to find gems from your own country rather than some foreign import. So have anyone else ever set any little guidelines in their LLM game other than the normal rules?

As I told yo somewhere else (I think it was you), there is no need for addicional restrictions. I have nothing against them though, if they are withing the bounds of realism

Yes it was and I dont think there is anything unrealistic about having an all British team is there

I imagine many do. The guidelines are just that - a common framework under which like-minded people can play.

I impose certain restrictions on myself, above and beyond the guidelines, to ensure the game stays challenging.

One obvious restriction pretty much all of us impose on ourselves is the 'knowing about players in real life and not using that knowledge in our games' restriction.

The vast majority of teams in the basement leagues are going to be British only as they're hardly going to be able to tempt somebody from the continent over on a part time contract. But to limit yourself to only British players - nah. I can't see how that's realistic, especially when you get out of the non-leagues. Your scout finds a French player in Hereford's squad who fits your problem position and you won't sign him because he's not British?

Not realistic.

It all depends on the history of the team. Like those basque-only pooves.

Agreed there are exceptions, but he specifically talked about a British save, and I can't think of one club which has a British only policy.

The club may not, but that doesn't stop a manager choosing to only buy British. I agree it would be foolish irl, but again, if a manager wants to be foolish, that's his perogative. If it works for him, great, but if it doesn't he'll be sacked soon enough.

Silly, pointless restraint. LLM is about realism, not hamstringing yourself with such guidelines.
