Hey guys hopefully you can help me out. I am trying to decide which version to buy. I live in America and don't want to wait for the DD version of FM. So tell me if it is worth it for me to save a few dollars and get the WSM version of the game( about $30 with Amazon.com) or should I suck it up and spend about $61(with Game.co.uk)to get the FM version shipped from the UK.
The price difference is alot, but I am willing to pay that if the experience is better. By better I mean both the playability as well as the software updates, patches, editors etc.
What would you do in my position. Thanks

Exactly the same game mate, just different wording used to make the game more applicable in North America.

The only changes are cosmetic, the match everything and everything else is the same.

When you say 'wait for the DD', do you mean the waiting time as in time to download? If not its already on D2D ( www.direct2drive.com ). Thats where I picked mine up from. And the game is fairly small so download time isnt bad either.

Same game, can change it to UK English, cheaper, I have DD the past three years so I would go for it.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. It helps. I was also wondering if the support for WSM is the same as FM, or if there is any lag for any of the patches, etc.

NO! dont buy WSM if your looking for editors, patches, updates!! i already own the DD of WSM but ordered an FM copy online so i can use the added value supplied by other programs. NOTHING released will work on WSM unless its an official patch by SI (and that would take a week minimum in delays).

Honestly speaking, think of it this way, the $30 dollars you pay for the DD is the standalone value of the game. But if you pay $61 dollars, you get the added value of faster updates and compatible 3rd party programs

Talk with the creator of FMM, I did so last year when my WSM didnt work with his editor, and he helped me out and made a version that did work with with wsm

FM/WSM 2008 are the same game. The main difference is the name. When Americans think of Football, they think American Football. In WSM, you can change the language from American English to UK English and you can do the reverse. I am buying FM 2008, because the patches are usually smaller than WSM and that's important to me because I only have a dialup connection.
