Default in light of England's recent performances IRL i think i'll try...

... electing myself as England manager and picking an entire squad of Championship players.

It's something i'd seriously like to see IRL, in theory a Championship XI should be able to beat the likes of Russia, Maldovia etc.

Maybe have a handful of influential players from the Premiership - Terry, Gerrard, Rooney, just to provide inspiration. But think of the moral boost those non-prem players would get

Right but what is Moral worth if your team isn't better?

Russia for example, have one of the (potential) best goalkeepers in the world (on the game) and that midfielder guy who played well against England is a target for Chelsea.

They do have a good team. Good luck, call up Billy Sharp and Michael Tonge (both of Sheff U)

moral makes a HUGE difference in the current match engine - perhaps over balanced.

besides, i still think the quality will be there to overcome most sides.

if i wasn't stuck at work i'd be trying it right now

Or you could try something no England manager has ever done, pick on form rather than popularity/hype ie. take the top scoring (English) Prem striker rather than some kid who should be good in a few years time to the World Cup
