Describing customers as 'rabid'? </BLOCKQUOTE>

They wanted the truth from SI, they got the truth. That it might not be too pleasant for some of them is another thing... </BLOCKQUOTE>

And the truth that they've offered here is that the game was unplayable on release and remains unfinished.

Complete justification for any "rabid" behaviour from the customers imo. </BLOCKQUOTE>

MrPompey - should we have a competition to see who can sigh the loudest? &lt;SIGH&gt;

Something less annoying - that's not what I've said at all. Quite the opposite in fact. And I love that many of the community are rabid and passionate because, well, most of us at SI are too when it comes to the game.

Thanks Miles

I kinda knew you guys were working on it, and i was always happy to just wait (within reason, obviously), so nothing new learnt for me personally

But can certainly see why you needed to start a new thread. That last one was nearly as long as the odds on Stevie McClaren getting in next years honours list, Jeez!!!

Please remeber how well recievd this has been Miles, most of the time all people want to know is be involved and kept in the loop.

I cant help but think howver that this may just be an attempt to avoid the obvious posts that would be coming as some of the SI team have suggested the patch should be out by th end of this week.

Im pleased now with soething to look forward too, best of luck with the testing process and dont forget, people wont remember the waiting if they get the genuine product!

I've waited a long time before making any complaints, because I wanted to be sure that it wasnt just a bad tactic, or bad player selection.

I've now played more then 30 half seasons with a large variation of clubs.

I've had no success. I've tried so many tactics its untrue. Every single time, the results are poor. I bought the game on day of release, and i've perserved, constantly hoping it would all fit together and begin to work.

But it hasnt. As far as I am concerned, it is totally unplayable.

And thats why tommmorrow morning I am taking it back for a refund.

Thanks for the update. Just what everyone wanted to read. Thats all we were wanting. If thing do slow down, like you say, please let us know. None of us hate yourselves or the game, we are just desperate for the patch so we can play the game as well as it ever is. Take the complaints as a compliment! If it was any other game i wouldn't be bothered! But because it's Footy Manager its a different story. Thanks again for the info on the patch. Hope to see it when it's ready!

So what was that about putting the beta patch out so people "could play the game"?

Thanks for the update, greatly appreciated! Personally I'm really enjoying FM08 as it is (playing with betapatch v2) and I'm having somewhat good success bringing Kettering Town up through the divisions, so it's certainly not unplayable, though it is a bit slow at times like you mentioned. But since I always play FM in windowed-mode I just do other things on the computer while it's processing so I'm not too bothered by that even though I certainly won't complain when it goes faster.
