Cheers for the post Miles, big fan since the 1st CM game, god that makes me feel old (31).

Any, ive tried the beta patch and ive noticed some flaws which have been caught by other people so i wont make to much fuss.

Im going to wait unitl the patch comes out though now, the reason is... my pc got screwed up in the week so im loading everything back on.

Got round to puttin FM08 back on but i need to load up the skins and all over kits,facepacks etc

Just havnt got the time yet, so ive decided to install abit everynight for the next week and hopefully the patch will be out by then.

Also like to mention that the podcasts are great now that you have more than one microphone now. Ive been listening to them all since they were out at work, havnt been caught out yet though by the boss. Great work,love tha game keep it up

Maybe it's time to hang up your boots then, or hire more resources. The things that have 'slipped through the net,' are in my opinion, schoolboy errors on your behalf. I'm sorry, but your commitment and reputation, which evidently precedes you these days, is not enough to 'pull the wool over my eyes.' If you think that your effort justifies the state of the game currently, which is a lot poorer than you admit to in you post, Miles, then the business world as I know it as not as dog-eat-dog as I thought. If there was a competitor out there that was even close to the level of you guys, I think you would have felt a massive dent in sales this year.

Now, I don't have to buy the game — I know this well. However, I did buy the game on reputation alone (and because FM is my religion), stupid me, and I have to say I am utterly disappointed with it. Yeah, it's great you patch the game afterwards, blah blah de blah, but what on earth was that Beta patch all about? And how do you explain the 'sneaky' second one that was not advertised? Was that some kind of 'cover-up'?

I want to go back to your statement, Miles, that there are not that many game-breaking issues currently. ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS? How do you explain Man Utd losing 5-2 at home to West Ham? Why did Boro beat Everton 7-0? Why did Fangzhuo score 2 goals in the 94th and 95th minute respectively to bring his Man Utd team back from the dead to win 3-2 against my Man City side when the game was supposed to end in the 93rd? Why haven't Arsenal won a game in 7 matches thus far? Why were 47 goals scored in week 2 of the season? Why did I have 27 shots on target against Derby and win 6-0 while only enjoying 38% of possession?

Why the vitriol on this forum? Why do YOU think?! You know that I am not the only person on this forum that is not happy with the game. If you agree for a moment that this forum only represents a tiny slice of the overall owners of the game, then you would have to say that thousands upon thousands of paying customers are not happy. So. Where are we supposed to vent our frustrations? Here of course. Yet only the fluffy little happy sunshine posts are kept open - you know, the lovely little care-bear fans that feel disrespecting the game is tantamount to blasphemy. I truly feel that it's only the die-hard loyalist fans that are happy with this game, and I have to believe since I was one of them, that a good few with sense have turned this year due to the game's almost insulting state. Why the vitriol? Well, because the game simply does NOT live up to your HIGH, HIGH standards. You created this monster, and you have a lot of blood-thirsty fans (well you did call us rabid) expecting a near-perfect game. This one is nowhere close to perfect. FM07 was a challenging, slick, polished game. This one feels like it's a work-in-progress — as if you just threw it out 70% done

After all I have said, my main anxiety stems from my feeling that this game can not be fixed. I am petrified that the only saving grace, the 3rd (are you sure there were not more 'sneaked' in at some point?) and FINAL patch will not salvage FM08. Of course, if you do manage to pull off the save of the century, then all of this will be forgotten, and I'll no doubt be posting fluffy little tactical threads. We are a fickle lot us FM'ers, yet for the first time in my 14 year Champ Man/FM career, I will think twice about purchasing the FM 09. I'm sorry to be so devoid of compassion, but I have no sympathy for you even though the patch has been promised early this week. I feel your service, and the game this year, is borderline amateur.

There's a common misconception that testing is just playing the game hoping problems jump out at you.
A lot of it is analytical work and the game doesn't exist in it's complete form for very long so you can't test a proper career game.

Once the game is fully patched I'll start my career and be just like any other player.
I will of course take note if I do find issues.

In the patch will the transfers be updated (e.g Leroy grithiffs on loan to gillingham and clint hill on loan at crystal palace leon cort on loan to stoke) ??
