In terms of the perceived SI Silence:
1) Careless talk costs lives (or patch waiting days)
2) When you have nothing to say...say nothing |

Funny thing is that i've found FM2008 the best out the box version for a long time, the "Closing down" bug not being an issue. The beta patch, although being in beta form was a complete bugged mess. Anyway, sorry I go from my point, alot of the moaners, me being one, have this year posted very constructive and well put together discussions, and I have learnt alot about your game building system, and shared alot of understanding. Some of the moaners are actually more loyal than most to you and the rest at SI towers, than those that only praise. You see some of us actually have been buying the game for years and continue to do so without fail. Over the years ive been accused of making things up with posts highlighting faults in the games, i've been accused twice of having a pirate version due to issues you say are bugs having found them earlier than most and thus been abused, in one case by a mod!
In the 15 years of playing your game I have bought every copy, enjoyed every copy, and to be honest can see myself doing it for as long as you guys continue to! Will I moan in future, yes i'm sure I will, but only as always about major faults. You see constructive moaning is something you should find helpful and those that praise and dismiss are in all honesty the ones who cause the most problems on here!
Your post is fantastic at the start in letting people know what is going on and how your testing it. As I say in the start of this post, learning how you do things has proved interesting and help many understand. A little information goes a long way, and means a number of your moaners will be ready to moan about new problems next week! | i'd prefer criticise really. yes, i haven't really criticsed in the past, but generally speaking, most of my criticism were already on the forum. i think, and correct me if i'm wrong, the constant moaning of the same old story was part of the problem for miles and his jolly crew. so feel free to give constructive criticism, as i'm sure you have, but don't moan about a guy not doing his job properly etc.
p.s. if you guys at SI continue to make fm for the next 20 years. you will continue to sell more and more copies each year.

Major Raver - I have no problem with constructive criticism/moaning/whatever you want to call it, and those people do get listened to. I thought I'd made that clear, and apologies if I didn't. It's only the destructive ones that I have an issue with because, well, it's pretty pointless. I understand why people do it though - I've been known to irrationally rant in my time, I just tend to do it face-to-face!
rcallini - I don't think it's right for me to make a statement without having all the facts lined up, and information to give. Last week, I didn't. Today, I do. Hence making the statement |

To say you dont enjoy the game because of the bugs are fair enough. Go get your refund. But dont blame your uselessness on SI...
| I've played since FM05. I've never had problems like this before. I even went as far to persist playing for almost an entire month, trying different clubs, different players, different tactics, to ensure it wasnt just that I was selecting bad tactics. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Then how do you explain other people having success..? If there was something wrong with the game, wouldnt everyone experience the same that you do? </BLOCKQUOTE>
I dont want to make a judgement of Flair's ability until I could understand what he has been doing. However I do agree to some degree with Bjaart here. Each edition changes and I fel becomes more realistic. We as FM Managers need to adapt to these.
Personally I feel great attention needs to be made to tactics and the previous 1 super tactic fits all perhaps has gone?
Flair - My offer still stands if you are interested. My reasons here simply one of being part of the FM community and passing back some of what I have learnt from others here in the past, and from my own mistakes over the years

I've had no success. I've tried so many tactics its untrue. Every single time, the results are poor. I bought the game on day of release, and i've perserved, constantly hoping it would all fit together and begin to work.
But it hasnt. As far as I am concerned, it is totally unplayable.
And thats why tommmorrow morning I am taking it back for a refund.
| Well, I'm certainly not the best manager in the world, but if I can get Stranraer promoted in my first season in charge then I guess the game isn't all that broke... although Harrogate is proving a little frustrating, I'll admit.
There are many games I'm no good at, but that's my problem, not the games. I suggest a little more patience.
Oh, and thanks to Miles et al for the update. Most informative and timely.

Please bear in mind folks that "progress" is not the way to decribe Miles's update.
It's what's happened so far but as he points out, until the next version is compiled and in test no estimates are accurate just wishful.
The midnight oil will be burning in many places to get the testing done asap though.
I admire the patience of some and I understand the frustration of others but nobody wants a rush job that isn't a good job.
