I got FM 2008 for Christmas and quickly realised that it is probably the hardest one yet. So I was wondering whether it was easier to start at the bottom, the top or anywhere in between? Does anybody have any league recommendations? Thanks to anyone who answers and Merry Christmas!

I find it easiest to start as a mid-table team, as if you start with a top side it's always difficult to live up to the expections as quickly as they want you too and when starting with a team expected to do badly, I find it takes a lot more patience and focus to do well enough to avoid relegation.

I think it is the hardest version of FM, which I like, but an easier start to your career always helps.

As for league reccomendations, maybe try the SPL with Aberdeen or Motherwell etc. If you load up a couple of nations you could try that then maybe look for a job in a more difficult league, like Germany perhaps.
