The idea of one person doing all the work year after year, witnessing about how hard it is, from time to time how little time they may have due to other circumstances etc. It is far from optimal.
There can be advantages - for a while - with just one mind being in control but in the long run I sure it will be more of an hindrence for timely releases, interesting ideas and dedication.
Open up your development, be the leader but welcome people to take part and get some more spinn. There are so many areas to be covered that I think it needs more time and effort than one person have at hand.
If not, I hope that some people with the required skill would start up and lead an open development.
