I'm sure this has been discussed at length in many other topics, but here's my take on the issue of target men: What makes a good target man:
As there are various options on how you can supply your passes/crosses to your targetman(to head, to feet, run onto ball), the attributes that defines a good target man would also vary depending on the option that you opted for. Personally, I've only ever bothered to use 'to head' because I've always liked to use a 'big man-small man' partnership upfront. So in this case, I'd do well to find a targetman that has decent stats for Heading,Jumping,Strength{/B] and {B]Bravery. Getting the most out of a 'To Head' Targetman:
Mentality: around 10 (a few notches lower than his striking partner)
Creative freedom: 10 (want him to stick to his job of heading balls down for players around him)
Passing style:15 (don't want him to play short, fancy passes)
Closing down:14 (I know this would pull him out of position, but I want him to help out the midfield)
Tackling:Easy
FWR:Mixed
RWB:Rarely
Long Shots:Mixed
Through Balls:Rarely
Cross Ball:Rarely
and lastly, Hold Up Ball.
hope that helps!
