OK so a day after my title winning game with Valencia Milan have stepped in and offer me a job in May 2008. I'm gonna try a 4-2-2-2 tactic similar to the type being mentioned here. The Milan squad is very similar to the start one - the main additions being Sissoko, Tiago and Torres. I've got 3 games to try and win (and if Juve slip up the title) and then over the summer I'll get another AMC to put to work. I'll have about £28mil, so first - any suggestions.
Next - the team.
Obviously, back 4 normal but with attacking full backs. My MC's will have barrows to DM and not go forward a lot. Pirlo will be constructive, Gattusso destructive obviously.
My main problem is the front 4. Currently I'm thinking sarrows on strikers with mixed forward runs and RWB often, though I'm not totally sure. Should I have one drop deep and hold up ball?
Next the AMC's. I know at least one (
prob Kaka) should have mixec forward runs, RWB often, and free role. I'm not sure if to have the other the same or if I should have him (who ever he may be - I'll buy to suit the role) drop deeper, hold up the ball and try through balls often. However I think this role mght be pointless as I would have Pirlo doing this. Hence it seems that both AMC's should be picking up the ball or running onto it and have the strikers pull away defenders so they can run towards the goal a la Maradona/Messi/Kaka.
Problem being this all seems a bit on dimentional and visionary and I'm not toally sure on the set up. Also I'm worried that potentially the only people making lots of forward runs are the full backs so I'm sure if the ball may get a bit stuck in midfield.
