I too believe that there is 'something' going on re: repeatable match results.
Very briefly.
After winning the CL the year previous with Atletico my first match of the new season is against Barca.
I had become disillusioned with the inconsistencies that i was seeing in the game and decided to experiment with this match.
I have now lost 32 straight games over the course of the last few months as i occasionally fire up the game and play the match.
Morale excellent, a variety of tactics, a variety of statistics (sometimes i dominate sometimes not), yet the result is always the same. Actually its become quite funny.
Early goals, blowouts, heroic comebacks, goals from setpieces (a lot), own goals, terrible back passes, incisive breakaways (when i'm protecting a lead), the whole lot... and yet not one victory and only one tie in 32 games.. whew.
Also disturbing is the quality of goals, unlike FM5 and to a certain extent FM6, the goals scored are seldom from fluid world class play (almost never), but are primarily from extremely amateurish defensive play, set pieces or counters.
I am not a tactical expert but there is no question that there has been a major change in the game engine. A lot of variables have been added, team talks, morale, etc.. remains to be seen whether the majority of the FM community will continue enjoying the game as currently constructed.
Time will tell.
Damn, i wasn't brief, my apologies.

I experienced all of those symptoms you mentioned, mate. My game went a little further though by having the same player injured consecutively, and the odd last minute own goal was thrown in for good measure. It would be sad indeed if every game was calculated in this manner—this would mean that all of those games you won meant nothing either. It definitely felt as though there was a certain inevitabiliy that I would not win and that the highlights were centered around a pre-determined result—meaning that human control of the match was a mere illusion. Sad sad sad.

Please Arteta don't assume that those who wont accept that the game cheats do so ot of hand an without reason. It is just in their (or our) experience we do not feel it does.
I'm a suspicious, cynical, anti-corporate leftist, teenager but I feel upon studying the "evidence" that the game doesn't cheat. I guess I will only really be persuaded if someone who knows programming shows us that it does. Innocent till proven guilty if you ask me, but that's just me...
Indeed though what does the debate matter?:
-If the game doesn't cheat long may it be.
-If it does SI wont listen to as yet unproven allegations and always deny them, but people will buy the game, and if they don't well that will be the end of it all, including SI.

moggy, I hear you, mate and your point is well taken.
I wish I didn't take this thing so seriosuly, but the CM/FM series has defined my childhood in a sense. I've played it since I was 13 years old (I'm 27 now), and it sickens me to think that the game has been changed thus that matches are manipulated in order to eliminate 'super-tactics.' If you discovered that this was indeed true, would you still play the game? The fact that there has been a significant amount of these 'complaints' as they are wrongly labeled shows me that something is amiss. Especially when you take into account that the people who write these posts are successful tacticians. This eliminates the ever-so-old response that 'your tactics are cack.'
I forget his name, but someone mentioned that these forums are frequented by 'ranters' and 'devotees'. I agree with him. The ranters feel they have discovered something and the devotees dismiss it. The divide is such that it is not possible to find a common ground since the devotees will never admit to flaws in their beloved game, and the ranters will always be labeled thus and so discredited (posts getting closed and the like).

| I couldn't agree more. I am a programmer myself, and I know that under certain situations, programming AI to 'dominate' in terms of result is possible. But it has to be a very good program. If not, things could get pretty weird.
Still, knowing the extent to which you will need to go to code this situation; I'd say its highly unlikely that SI would have done it.
But I swear by God that if I somehow find out that SI have used this intentionally, I would never touch the FM series again. But if they do come out clean (if something is amiss as is being claimed), I would accept it and move on. Quote: |

| It was Neyles (on the general forum), and like moggydave says; innocent until proven guilty.

i must apologise to anyone concerned if i was at all to blame for getting your last thread closed arteta! but i was fed up at the time with the usual comment that people get for raising genuine concerns with the game!
i would ask however that people who claim to 'not have no problem with that' or 'it never happens to me' or whatever, know that it can come across as condescending (intentionally or not!) which is why people can take offence to such remarks! such comments are not usually wanted or warranted so i would ask if people could try to contructively agree or disagree or not post at all!
the post i replied to could be construed as both sweeping and condescending (well it was definately sweeping!) so i replied to it as i saw it at the time! but if i was wrong i apologise as i understand posts can be misunderstood all the time on here (ive had it myself!)!
oh by the by i just came across another anomally! lol
has anyone played munich in CL much?
because ive not played them much but everytime ive played them in the knockout rounds i concede in the last minute!
it happened again earlier!! the time was 94.59 (i **** u not!) in the 1st leg of the CL semi when they 'hit me on the counter' to win 1-0 at home! but i took it on the chin (even though it struck a chord!) and i won the next league match to win the league with 3 games left! so i go into the 2nd leg full of confidence and told the team they could win it and promptly then went out on fire and hammered bayern from start to finish dominating and winning 2-0! that was until 91.32 of 2 min overtime when all of a sudden they popped up to score with only their 2nd shot on target!!!
i only bring it up as it happened to me identically the same way before in a previous save against bayern!! with 2 totally different tactics!!
although its on another pc i will definatley upload it for others to try if i can!!!

One I get tired with these endless threads, which sometimes border on having nothing to do with tactics. Honestly, I don't need to explain why threads get closed, and I do not work for SI. However I have repeatedly stated that I will allow a few threads to stay open. If you want SI to respond, they can't very well keep entering a new thread for the explicit purpose of answering the same question over and over again.
I cannot speak on behalf of SI, as I do not work for them. If people have an issue with the way I moderate these forums they are more than welcome to email me anytime. No personal threads to me please. If you feel this game has bugs there is a right way of approaching the problem, either through the bugs forum or emailing them. I have suggested a methodology that works, however the inclusion of screenshots alone will never be enough, despite the countless arguments that people put up. However, there have been instances where some odd things have happened to people, including one bizarre set-piece that I have sent an attached pkm, and details on how it can be replicated. ArtetaIf you think that is a bug and can be verified, then by all means send in the pkm through the bugs forum. You could also email it to SI. Noone is stopping you, however I find such a run like yours completely unrealistic, you need to ask yourself why it doesn't happen to anyone else.
MV is already taking a look at Neonlight's thread...so if you think your assertions are constructive, then post them there as well. I'm not saying it can't be done, all I'm saying is make it more focused, its going to be easier for something to be corrected if indeed there is a problem
