Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Come Deep for the Ball

I'm all in a tizz

I've been trying to instruct a forward to come deep for the ball.
Hitherto, I've used a barrow to AMC and set mentality to 10, and forward runs to mixed.

This approach has been frustrating and unsuccessful. This is probably because I didn't realise that barrows were for defensive positions.

Can anyone please help me?

why don't you just put him amc? it won't automatically mean he plays bad i've played a 8-0-2 with, literally, everyone bar the striker, behind the ball

You want him at ST still but with forward runs on rarely, hold up ball turned on and RWB rarely too. Preferably you want a come deep kind of forward too (perhaps an FC not a ST) or someone with "plays with back to goal" in fave moves perhaps.

You could also perhaps set him p as a TM in addition to all of this with supply at feet or to head.
