I have a tactic that is very good. While I'm trying to improve it myself, I'm curious to know
if people are interested in collaborative efforts to improve the tactic as a FM community.
The way I'm envisioning is the following:
1. Experiment and come up with modifications that might add improvements to the tactic.
2. Document the modifications made.
3. I will make the modifications and test them against my test suite.
4. If I could confirm the statistical significance of an improvement, I will version up the tactic and whoever
came up with the modifications get the credit.
5. Repeat from step 1 with a new version of tactic.
Some things to note:
- The formation needs to remain the same as the original tactic.
- No barrows on Full Backs.
If some people are interested, I will post what would be the "Version 1" of the tactic
which would serve as the basis.

Pall,I'm extremely amazed by your tactic (at least after my first match).I played against AC Milan with my poor National(Romania) and finished 0-0 after extra-time,and won after penalty-taking.It was a friendly,it's a pity but Milan played with all their stars Kaka,Inzaghi,Kaladze..
My second surprise was that although you play with high CD,and very quick tempo my players conditions after the game were 75-90% (I'm in pre-season).

I will give it a go with my midtable type Premiership side which has a tough string of matches coming up, but it would be very nice if for others you give a basic explaination of what each position is expected to do. i.e. right side is the target striker (explaination of your preferance). I will just look at the tactic though, I should be able to sort it out.

You were just lucky to earn penalties since they destroyed you on the field, 19 shots on goals is a LOT and it was a friendly
Good result but not sensational

Thanks guys,
This tactic is a standard 4-4-2. The D-Line are to stay at the back, including Full Backs. So you want to have Full Backs that excel in defense than offense.
Speaking of Central Midfielders, the right one is Defensive oriented and the left one is offensive.
For strikers, the one on the right is the Target man, the left one is Fast Striker.
This is basically the nutshell of the tactic.
I'll be waiting for any suggestions for improvements.

First I want to preferance this by stating that my team is not built for a target man (although I have one good one on my team) and normally play a very direct style, so I built upon this, but here are my results. My game is in 2026, so I will let you know the difficulty level of each match as I explain (this will be indicated by the number next to the H or A).
Man United (H) 9/10 - The Champions League winner the last 4 seasons in my game, seriously the most dominate team in the game right now, so a draw is a amazing task. W 4-3
Liverpool (A) Euro Cup 7/10 - Liverpool has talent, but I guess their manager sucks, but still enough to give you fits on the road definately, we dominated the first half up 3-1, but second half turn around by them ended 3-3 D.
Villa (A) 6/10 - Aston Villa always gives me fits, they have a nice attack and very tough to break down defensivly, midfield is not that great though, so if you make good on your chances then this is winnable for me 2-0 W
Liverpool (H) 3/10- See above...... 1-0 W in stoppage time.
Arsenal (A) 9/10- Still a big time squad, second best in my game. Very difficult matchup away for certain. A draw would be a exceptional result. This is the first time I was cursing my computer screen with this tactic on. Completely dominated throughout 3-0 L
Man City (A) 8/10- Man City very difficult matchup as them have actually built themselves up to a team who qualifies for the Champions League about every other season. I completely dominated the ball most of the match, if it wasn't for one very nice counter I would have gotten the result I was really wanting 1-1 D.
Toulouse (H) Euro Cup 5/10- difficult team, solid all around...... 1-0 W
Toulouse (A) Euro Cup 8/10- 2-0 L
Reading (H) 4/10 - Solid mid table team every season, but this is one of those If I am going to compete for Euro Cup again next season I now need to win this one. A great first half outside of one great long kick finding the back of the net I was solidly in control 2-1, second half killed me though 2-3 L
Liverpool (A) 7/10- See above...... 2-1 L, but this is with two of my main players going down the first 5 minutes of the match. I can live with it.
Blackburn (H) 2/10- Blackburn are back and forth between the Premiership and Championship now, not a difficult matchup overall. 4-0 W
Watford (H) 2/10- Relegation favorites coming into the season should be a blowout, but played a nice 5-3-2 against me, very hard to break down with this formation. I suggest pulling your d line up against this and play offsides for the counters coming against it. (especially if the team has weak strikers like Watford does in my game) Also if you have a special creative player let him run, because this formation is not effective against it. 1-0 W on a header from the corner.
Tottenham (A) 8/10- Another solid team all around a draw would be excellent against them. 2-1 L
Walsall (H) 3/10- Yes Walsall is up (not of my doing) and seems to find a way to avoid relagation every season. Still I should win this one. Completely dominate 2-1 W With the one agaisnt a 30 yard amazing shot.
All in all I will say that this is like many other formations, you have the right players to stick into it and you will be alright. Agreed FB need to be truely defensive not really a wing back mix or a pure wing back. Out of 4-4-2 formations though this is one of the best I have tried. 8.5/10
