Does the manual's description of closing down still apply. I mean the phrases "own area", "own half" and all over in relation to close down.

Does this imply that if midfielders are put to close down own area, they will only close down once the opposition is in their half? Or do these descriptions mean the same as rarely, mixed and often?

Yes the definition in the manual still applies. However please bear in mind that this works when you don't have the ball. Furthermore, mentality and any arrows do affect your closing down.

Closing down is the act of a player to reduce the distance between himself and the opposing player in an attempt to reduce his options. Success depends on fitness, stamina, workrate, anticipation and bravery to some extent.
