Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

yes it will work i've had martins and owen, martins and rossi work together and all 3 are "fast strikers" i find that crosses to the far post are effective (plenty of tap-ins, there's a good thread about that) and i'd make one of them target man with "run onto ball" chosen good luck, glad you're newcastle

I think that this is a lethal combo. I would have both strikers on forward runs, high attacking mentality & freedom, and have your midfield play through balls often. If you play a flat 4-4-2 with no arrows on your wingers, I would use the strikers as a wide outlet. Place side arrows on each striker moving them toward the wing, and have your full-backs on direct or long passing. This could be a great counter-attacking system. Have them on run with ball too and cross often from the byline. Good luck pal. Let us know how it goes eh?

Woops, nice tips there arteta,

I'm currently using both short strikers (Rossi & Brandy), due to Rooney and Johnson injured.

My experience, i'm using the faster one - that is the one with more pace and acceleration - as the target-man with Run on to Ball supply and Rossi (slower one) as the finisher.

Works really well.
