If you had to choose just a default tactic in FM2008, which would it be and why?

I always choose a attacking 4-4-2 and I do this as it seems to be the accepted tactic around the globe.

You read about people having success with many others but apart from 4-3-3 and 4-1-3-2- and or 4-3-1-2 you don't see many other tactics used in real life.

I am only asking this to see what tactic most people prefer and why.

i usualy play 4-3-1-2 with Farrows on wingers and fullbacks. reason: i usually score a lot and only conceed 1 goal

4-4-1-1 ftw!

This is after finding out that rotating Rooney and Ronaldo as a lone striker is a hugely rewarding tactic

Oh, and it's a really versatile tactic, most often when I am in possession the am will act as a second striker while dropping back when the opposition has the ball. Best of both worlds with that one

4-1-3-2 is pretty good.... just remember to get a strong tackling DM

Why would you EVER use a default tactic???? Defeats the purpose of the game. Even if you tweak it, it's still a default tactic - you'd be as well talking about the game with your mates as opposed to playing it!!

I would choose NO default tactic...why cos it's just a base for you to go build your tactic on.
