"Dictates Tempo" on one player -- can it harm your team tactic? ( and other PPM discussion)
Here's why I am making this assumption - On past two seasons I played great football finishing top two on both of them. Even before that scoring lots of goals.
Then, for next season I did only ONE buy on market and that was Miguel Velonso as my DM. He does have "Dictates Tempo" PPM. Season goes on and on, I am underperforming a lot...and deservedly so. Problem is, I'm not creating the chances the way I used to. After 18 games I had conceeded least goals...but I had also scored second least goals, which is totally opposite compared to earlier seasons where I scored a lot and now my team was even better through development. Quality of chances simply dropped a lot. I was really at loss thinking what the hell is wrong, I couldnt find any reasonable explanation.
Then, for one game, I start with other DM than Velonso and suddenly I win 6-1 away. This really made me think, maybe, just maybe his 'dictates tempo' perhaps hurts my team tempo and therefore messing my teams build ups big time? I don't use playmaker, I don't want to limit my builds to anyone because I feel I got very talented squad where everyone can make plays.
I know this might not be the case and what I just wrote is complete nonsense, but after that game Velonso never played a game for me again and was sold, and everything seemed to be back to normal with my team's performances...
I'm not that good "reading the game", and when I watched the games I just couldn't put my finger to it, but maybe it's possible this one simple PPM on link player who sees ball a lot...just counter-producted on my tactic? Opinions, or am I just going crazy?
Also feel free to discuss other PPM's here. And Merry Christmas while I'm at it.
