FM 08 and the word FUN don't go together, do they? Fun , enjoyment or whatever you want to call it was a MASSIVE part of this Football Manager series, but it has been drying up of late. With FM08 i have really struggled to get any kind of enjoyment at all. Only frustration. Sometimes they take realism to far.
With the full patch it wasn't that hard to play well but it was very hard to score goals. The one on ones, players shooting straight at the keeper, less creativity, more creativity and then the opponents would make it worse by getting one shot and well i needed say anymore.
I was at the point where the only option seemed to uninstall the game. I did, then i read in the GQ section about how so many people have done the same but then re-installed the game with the BETA patch onto it. So with no other road open i give it a try and then loaded up my Kidderminster saved game as it was one week prior to a new season kicking off.
I had used this game lots of times with lots of different varitions of tactics but i couldn't get any higher than mid-table.

I'm not getting to carried away as it is only 5 games but looked at those goals for and against. I could never get a minimum of 3 goals per game of the full patch.
I though that patches were supposed to make games better but that full patch seemed to make it WORSE. It is a shame that according to the GQ section quite a few people have now given up.
SI PLEASE NOTE: In future can you make patches uninstallable rather than having to unistall the game as some people give up altogether.
I've not edited or cheated, although in the LLM threads they would frown on me starting the game with high reputation. Managed to be offered Man Utd as a parent club and have loaned virtually the whole reserve team!!
Realism out the window I suppose, but take a look at this thread for more on my current save.
I can't find it either (Beta patch), I would like to uninstall the whole thing and use only beta patch to see if tactics may work better...or this for me (like others) will be just a "no-fun-game" as of today.
FM08 has never been so much FUN!
