Hey,

I'm extremely new to football manager 2008, great game but I just have one question.

A couple of my players are always ineligible for my games and it's because I haven't registered them or something. I was just wondering if there was a way to register players mid season or any way at all to fix this.

Is it right under my nose?

Well they'd be eligible from European Competitions or cup Competitions but not from the league games.

Say for eg, you are in the English Premier League. You'd be able to play any player as long as he's signed on. But if you are going to play in the Champions League, you get a message to register a list of 25 players. They ask you this at every stage (qualifiers, group stages and then once you get through groups stages). If you dont register your player at that time, he cant play in that competition till they ask you again at which time you can include him as well.

The second thing could be that you might have signed a player in say the Jan transfer window or something. And this player might have played in the CL with the his previous team. If he has done so, he's automatically ineligible to play for you in the same competition. A player can only play for one team for the whole competition. Ofcourse, he'd be eligible to play next season though.
