Whilst enjoying what I now hold as my most fulfilling LLM game to date, I came across a dilemma.
(without breaking the 3 season rule, I just thought I would briefly describe the situation) Having taken my local side Bishop’s Stortford (NCS) to 5th in Conference National (via 3rd place and playoffs) in 1 ½ seasons, I was pleased with the teams progress. Having sold my star striker for £500k on summer transfer deadline day, my goal was to buy a new one come January 2007.
Here is the dilemma. Keeping to LLM scouting rules, my scout found an aging Italian “superstar” in the West Ham reserves. Having been captain before relegation, he had played for Celtic, Charlton and most notably Lazio(irl*), before West Ham bought him back to rot in their reserves. At 38, I believe he could still play at PL level, in a similar role to *aging former Egland now Hammer striker* However, even with this doubt of unrealism, I have a 50k offer accepted, and to my horror he actually wants to sign!
With terms agreed and only confirmation required, I ask you fellow LLM managers…
This player, IRL, would never sign for a newly promoted conference side. If I complete this deal, would it be against LLM law as it is so unrealistic??
(*note – no information regarding said player was used as an aid in the game)
i dont see how it would be against the rules as the said player actually wants to sign for you. so what if he wouldnt normally sign for a club in real life, would bishop stortford be fighting for a football league place in 2007 in real life??????
......as well as: Stockport County, Bournemouth, Fulham, Los Angeles Aztecs, Cork Celtic, Fort Lauderdale Strikers, San Jose Earthquakes, Dunstable Town, Brisbane Lions and Ford Open Prison.
I think it's perfectly OK, other than the reservations voiced by alki
It is the sort of move an up-and-coming team might make - gamble on a former superstar and hope he still has enough in the tank to kick your team onwards and upwards.
For example, Boston did it with a certain Geordie, not that they had much success.
