I do usually get recommendations for young kids, even school boys. But this scout i told to look for older players who could add experience to the side, as well as be a "teacher" (i use this term loosely in this players case) to the under 18's and younger members of the squad.

This is because i signed around 9 school boys during the summer (to create a reserve team now im in the conference national) and have a generally yound team anyway.

Also, said player has signed for a Serie C2 side for the coming season, making my transfer slightly more realistic than i once thought!

I think it's completely legit if your scout found him.

I realize it's probably early in your save (because the guy we're talking about IS 38, I think ), but don't forget that as things progress you will see things that seem unlike real life, because your save game splits from real life as soon as you start it and evolves differently. I once had a guy who was a Premiership player IRL on trial at a Conference club and decided not to sign him. It wasn't unrealistic in my game -- he was crap in my game.

In my current save, eight seasons in, Liverpool has just been relegated and Birmingham just won the Champions League.
