I miss the good ol' CM0304 nine-goal thrillers. My ineptitude at attacking football means lots of nil-nils and one goal borefests.

I've got recollections of an old CM game (could have been 01/02) where I was managing Barnet in a match that finished 9-5 to us. On that day, the entire English league just went crazy, with each game averaging something like 9 goals. Very odd.

2008/9 - the house that patch built

As mentioned elsewhere, the season got off to a reasonable start; we were in touch with the playoffs after the first couple of months. Then I installed 6.0.2 and everything very quickly took off.

We went on a 3 month run of results that propelled us to the top of the league and saw us managing a large number of clean sheets for the first time in the save. After that, things settled down a bit and we drifted back into the playoffs.

A run of 5 straight wins saw us move 1 point ahead of Brentford into 1st place with one match to go. A sixth successive victory (never achieved pre-patch) saw us clinch the Conference title with a record of:

P46 W27 D10 L9 F93 A46 Pts91 (new Conference record)

We reached the second round of both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

A couple of coincidences with our Conf South promotion season:

1. After two seasons of finishing just off the playoff places, Weymouth wins the playoff final to be promoted with us.

2. Our top scorer for the season was the guy we loaned from Bristol Rovers in season 1 (signed for £2k in July) with 24 goals.

Just over halfway through the next season we are 7 pts clear at the top of League 2 with a W17 D7 L5 record. I don't know if this is still due to the patch or a continuation of the fact that getting out of Leagues 2 & 1 is always a given in SI games once you've battled out of the Conference.

What donald said. I'm going to have to check I actually installed it properly as I can't tell the difference results-wise.

Good work nonetheless
