Picture this:
Last game of the season. A win would mean certain play-off promotion spot, anything else would mean only a very slimm chance as there are 2 teams directly placed behind me in the table.
Game is played against a team somewhat at the lowerside of the table and we score just after halftime. Everything's going fine.
Until ... 85th minute .. Goalie decides to take a walk to the corner flag. Too late for getting the ball. Way too late to be back in goal to stop the ball. Final score 1-1
Bunkeflo IF 2009
At the start of the season my hope was to beat last year's position of ending 7th. That looked quite makeable from the start of the season as we were quite decent. As usual good home form combined with a decent away form meant we were in the top spots the entire season. We dropped a bit too much points in the final streak of games as we were playing a lot of fellow topteams there but in total I can't be disappointed. Until the final fatefull game that is. To make things worse; the team who had the same # of points but a lousy GD lost and the team 2 points behind won 3-1 ending in the play-off spot while having a better GD then us of 1! (that's ONE GOAL DIFFERENCE ONLY!)
Not much news on the finances part, released some players so got back under budget but for the entire season 21k in the black, in total still in debt.
Cup: See 2007 and/or See 2008.
My players were great imho as their manager, superstriker got 21 goals (club record) while Super MRC and swedish/albanian MC got once again in the First Division Team of the Year. Now together with my Goalie and a DC.
At the end of the year I got my first youngster of this save promoted, an 18yr old SC. \o/
Squad size now 32, that is half the total I've started with
