I played Sweden league on CM00/01 and CM4. It was the best experience I ever had. I believe, that 2nd division is tough challenge. Winning the league takes you to promotion playoffs with other 5 winners of their groups. Playoffs are of knockout type and 3 teams are promoted.
It can get frustrating though, to win a season and still stay in 2nd division.

You probably lost in the first round or so, I think that's missing in the game when you start in Sweden.

And for finances.. don't expect any income at all until you're promoted..

Unfortunately, premier division clubs get way too much money to be realistic.

2006 Bunkeflo IF

After last season's adventures the board had adjusted their expectations significantly; we were supposed to fight relegation this time.

They didn't have to worry as we managed to get a truely amazing season. We managed to get a 14-7-1 record; GF 54 GA 22. 10 Points clear of #2 Floda BoIF. On top of that we trashed Sandvikens IF in the promotion play-off with 7-2 on aggr. meaning Bunkelfo IF got Promoted \o/

Got 2 offers for the super MRC of last season, both meeting his minimum release clause. Very luckily both offers got withdrawn as MRC continued to have a great season; 4 goals, 14 assists (club record), 5 MoM's (club record) and on top of that an average rating of 8.21. Naturally he was voted supporters player of the year.

Not only MRC had a great season but strikers all of a sudden could find the net as well; best striker netting now 16 compared to the 7 last season. Too bad he got injured in the final stage of the season and is out for 6 months. He sure will be missed the first matches of the 2007 season.

Reached second round of the Cup were we got kicked out by a decent 0-1 by IFK Nörrkoping (1st Div, got promoted to Premier Division at the end of the season).

Finances going down a bit further even despite the 100k board injection I got from the board as a big thank you in the week after we secured promotion. Income in total 129k (including beforementioned 100k ...), expenditure 313k. Got rid of some players but still having a squad of 55.

Remarkable news around the world: Liverpool () were denied entry to the group stages of the CL by Kaunas from Lithuania on away goals

But to be honest: I'm very curious how we will manage in the first division..

2007 Bunkeflo IF

Board expectations for this season: fight bravely against relegation which seems correct to me.

Away we were indeed playing like the hot favorite for relegation ending with a 3-0-12 record and conceding 2.6 goals on average per game. Luckily we were fairly decent at home meaning we finished the league in 8th position.

Season start was severly hampered by the long term absence of both best strikers, main striker (the one who scored 16) was out in total for 8! months, the other was 3 months out. On top of that some other players had shortterm injuries and suspensions so we had a rought time then.

Again out in the second round of the Cup, this time to a Div 2 team. Ah well, it was an away game what could I expect?

Remarkable we didn't have one single draw all season. We either lost (almost all away games) or Won (most of the home games).

Attracted a few players for later on building of the squad and offloaded most of my reserve team taking the squad size down from 55 to 37 now meaning I'm under the wage budget for the very first time

Finances are getting slowly under control. Only lost 75k last season and with now the wage budget under control I have hopes this season will even be a bit better. Still 331k in the red.

Liverpool () may say thanks to Kaunas (see last post) as they won the UEFA Cup (or whatever that thing is called in this version of FM )

Roll on the 4th season!

55!?
Do you sign all players that become available or so?
I started in Norway with a squad of only 13 non-grey players!
With a salary cap of GBP350/wk attracting decent players proves to be very difficult. So my squad will probably remain small for the next few years...

At the start of most of my matches I get the question whether I'm sure I want to continue because I haven't selected the maximum of subs. I KNOW!!!! I just don't have any more!
