Default Dealing with players being out...

Just a general query as to how others play the game...

When doing LLM, squads are threadbare to say the least.

Was wondering what all you lads do, when for example, your 1st choice DC's say, are out for a match.

Do you play an establised 1st teamer in the wrong position, e.g. a left back at DC?

Or do you play a young u-19 lad who actually is a DC, but maybe isnt really ready for 1st team games yet?

I know I tend to pick the player on their actual position , rather than their abilities, so i tend to play the young lad, but wondered what others did, and how the feel it affects them?

I like to rotate the players to keep them fresh, but sometimes this means dipping into the "grey" Reserve and U18 squads. Some of them can play.

I tend to play the established 'first-teamer' myself, experience

Sounds like you're asking for advice. Don't ask me. I'm not telling.

If we told you what we did and how it affected the players you'd know whether you should do the same or not, yes?

As mentioned by the previous poster I tend to rotate players to keep them fresh.

I usually play my main DL, DC, DC, DR but if I feel they need a rest I'll start another player who plays that position to cover them.

I try to sign a DRLC so I've got a backup who can play anywhere and swap players if necessary. Most of the time I sign player who have DLC/DRC.

I try to get 4 good defenders and 2 reasonable backups to use in a rotation system.

Remember DM's can usually cover DC and vice versa, so you don't need a huge squad, just sensible signings.

I often find that decent and experienced players are useless when played out of position. Then again most of my players are useless in their natural position anyway...
