I hope all of you realise that climbing ladders is soon to be outlawed by the HSE. Scaffolding will be required.
I need to see your written risk assessments before I will allow anyone to climb any sort of ladder, managerial or otherwise.

Yeah, I did it in my current save. It was not an unrealistic move -- down in the table -- yet I still feel a bit guilty about it. Mostly I just wonder if I could have achieved the same thing waiting for an offer.

It definitely passed the "are you doing something a manager would do IRL" test.

I don't apply for jobs, neither declare interest in the jobs of managers under pressure.

Maybe it's just that I think I owe some loyalty to the club I'm currently at; and I wouldn't like some unknown idiot stating that he would love to see me unemployed so he could make my team behave like a real football team.

Oh, declaring interest is scummy. I applied right after the bozo who was ruining Antalyaspor got sacked.

BTW, do managers declare interest IRL??

In Brazil, at least, whenever someone is linked by the press to replace a manager under pressure, they give the standard answer:

"I won't comment on this issue, because I respect [Manager X], who is still working at [Club Y]."

Usually, though, they end up signing for Club Y in a few weeks time.

I just did it in real life with my company. I start a new job on 8/21/06. If it works in real life, why not the competitive world of sports?

Of course, I would hope that if you back stabbed some poor S.O.B. by expressing interest in HIS job tht the game somehow would penalize you (your reputation or a short leash by the new owner).

In FM 2005, I got a nasty e-mail from my owner because I was applying for too many open jobs. I haven't seen that now, but I haven't been able to get my Saves to last long enough without crashing where that would be an issue.
