I'm sitting here in the job, with nothing to do, and started thinking about the way I'm handling my current game.
One thing I did notice is that I don't give enough attention to training in FM. That's probably because training was not good in previous incarnations of the game.
So, what is the approach you guys have on this part of the game??
I just tend to leave everything as is, and maybe add a few coaches to the ones my club already has at the start of the game, but I'm planning on developing my skills at this part of the game, as well. I'll probably try to come up with some schedules of my own, and see how it works. But I'm probably going to wait until my vlub goes Pro, which must improve training overall.
LL: leave it like it is. Maybe sign a new coach if there's a very bad one.
Now that I'm at higher places I usually bring in decent coaches and try to do something about the training.
I pay alot of attention to Training, I make my own schedules and usually buy alot of coaches. I don't do as much when im managing a club which is not Pro.
One of the first things I do in every club is set up the training. Then I just leave it alone for 20 years because I have NFI what effect it is having on the players.
In CM 01/02 and FM I have designed my own schedules to fit the league I'm in and the number of coaches I have. Having a background in Sports Science means I have an interest in this, and I feel it has a beneficial effect on my team.
In the versions in between the training became far too over complicated, where you had to assign a form of training to each session, so then I left it to the Ass Man.
At the end of the day it depends on what interests you out of the game. I hate wasting my time with training so I hire coach, assign and leave it alone. I think Ian has mentioned this a few time before.
I guess same applies to tactics, team selection, transfers...
This is probably tipping but the assign new position actually works! Compared to CM01/02 days from what I can remember.
I set up a training scheme in my first job (in this save) and have simply taken it with me wherever I've gone. I'm happy with it and only the real lard-arse players moan about it.
