If I, for example, had a well-respected Scottish scout at a team I'd inherited in America, I would justify sending a scout to Jockland.

If I had a scout of low reputation from Scotland, I wouldn't send him to Scotland. If he has no reputation, he wouldn't be able to attract players to leave Jockland for the US.

I would, however, NEVER sign a scout based solely on his nationality to justify to myself being able to scout his home nation. If a good foreign scout on the same reputation or lower as me and my club wanted to come, however, I'd think this was fair.

The only way I personally would consider that would be if a player appears in one of my player/staff's favourite personel. For example, I have a player in my Hayes squad who's brother plays for another side in a lower league. I find it acceptable that said player would mention to me his brother, and if I was short for cover in that position that I'd at least have a look.

I dispute that the coach has the faintest idea what he's doing. That "player" is an impostor trading off his dad's name. He's crap

What the other guys said - if the scout already has a high rep, then it's probably fair game, but an obscure scout isn't going to have much more luck than he would locally.

I like this idea, I had forgotten about the favorite personnel attribute. That probably makes the most sense from a realistic standpoint.

And jch23, I don't know if he has any idea on how to coach, but he was my favorite player when he played for my MLS club. Hopefully he's on the right track, I want him to do well even if its for another MLS side
