To that point, it seems a fun idea. If you did play by the guidelines we use, it would tend to give you a more difficult game, on average, than using Frank or a random dice system to pick a club.

Some time back IIRC someone suggested starting a game, making yourself unemployed for a very long time, and then entering as a new manager after decades have passed.

I seem to remember be doing that with my original Billericay game on 01/02 fella.
I joined them when they got promoted to the Conference in 2010.

I like roleplaying. I started a game and added myself as unemployed manager. Then I let the game run for 50 seasons without taking a job, since I found it highly unrealistic that I would ever be employed by a club. Then I retired because I became too old.
