Still bruised from a recent spanking by the Hand of God (aka "iajafer"), I now crawl --- penitently --- to the alter to explain myself.
Being new here, yet being also aware of our "Draconian" rules in this society, I responded to this recent thread and gave some thoughts about how to manage the injury problem. Before posting I did have a second thought about the rules, which I quote:
Quote:
Forum Rules
Player Naming or Tipping - Including all FM, CM from 01/02 onwards, and Real Life Players. (Staff and Ex-Player names may be deleted at the Mods' discretion)
The reason behind this rule is locally known as The Floodgate Scenario. Lower League Managers rely almost exclusively on their Scouts to find players to grace their squad, they don't want to see names of players found by other Managers in posts on LLM.
New arrivals to LLM have in the past seen the names of regens or famous current players in posts and have decided that it's okay to post "Buy Player X, he's a great goalie" or "Player Z will net 140 goals a season" which will spoil the game for others.
Name one player and it opens the floodgates for dozens of others.
There are still many users playing older versions of the game, so if there was a player in CM 01-02 who has now retired for example, we would ask users to refrain from naming them.
Mod's have the right to remove Staff or ex-player names at their own discretion.
For this reason there is no player naming in LLM.
It seems the Hand of God has legislated from the bench to add to this rule the extra requirement that posters must avoid giving "tipping" on management strategies.
I have no quarrel with this extra rule. One sees the sense in it. It seems well-reasoned and is almost certainly the product of long experience.
But.... if in the future such rules are to be added to the constitutional text, shouldn't that text also be amended? Shouldn't future transgressors be on fair notice before the Hand of God leaps into action?
Thanks for "listening." I go now to resume my managerial duties at some obscure Conference North pitch.

It helps if you stop being a complete tool and actually read the forum header, of which the first line clearly states.
Quote:
For managers that enjoy the challenge of bringing a lower league team to the top - without the need for tipping, cheating or bragging. ]
The following will not be tolerated:
Now unless that is written in Swahili, then I understand it as tipping is banned.
So actually 'listen' to LLM and take heed if you wish to continue posting here.

The tipping part is a separate imperative from player naming. There is more text covering player naming to anticipate objections and make it a bit more clear. Tipping, on the other hand, is pretty straightforward, and therefore needs no further explanation. Note the conjunction OR to separate tipping and player naming. It is there so as not to confuse you into thinking it means no tipping by player naming. Make sense?
