To a very small place on the coast of Norway, working. Nothing to do outside work, not even a pub in sight.
Fantastically good to be back.
Today I actually was to a debate/meeting with the foreign minister of Norway, discussing WTO. Some people surely find that boring, but nevertheless the stuff is terribly important. It was quite interesting, and a nice pause from the terrible news from the Middle East.
I'm sure that's discussed somewhere else though, so let's keep this one FM-related (sort of) |

Annagh Utd - Norther Irish Premier Division
This has been a strange season, very strange.
Bought 5 players for 5K. None good enough for the first team though. Sold 6 players for 525K (and released 6).
As I didn't sign anybody to immediately strenghten the team, I expected the same fight as last year. Didn't happen. We walked over everything in our path. Won the first 17 gamesin the league on the trot - which is astonishing enough. What's more strange is that we didn't concede a single goal in these 17 games. Then we drew 2-2. Then we won the last 12 games, only conceding one more goal. Won the league 10 points ahead of Linfield with 105-3 GD. Unnecessary to say this was my best season ever in any CM or FM.
Walked both domestic cups. Beat Coleraine 2-1 in the League Cup Final, and Glentoran 4-1 in the Irish Cup Final. Even in Europe we did well. Got to the group stage of the UEFA Cup without too much trouble, where we faced Rapid Wien, Palermo, Genk and Stuttgart. 1 win, 2 draws and 1 loss. But the strange thing is that we destroyed Palermo 5-1 (only deserved a draw though). Finished 4th of 5 in the group.
Won All-Ireland Cup too with few problems. 20 international call-ups in the semi-final and final couldn't even destroy us. This is indeed the weirdest season ever. League: 1st P30 29-1-0 GD 105-3 (+102) 88pts
UEFA Cup: 4th in Group Stage
Irish Cup: Winnder
League Cup: Winners
All-Ireland Cup: Winners
None in my first-eleven will re-sign contracts, so I take that as a sign of quality.
Have 4 strikers that are all good. Top goalscorer with 42 in 32(8), and 2nd best with 38 goals in 36(5). Won some awards too.
I'm getting more and more itchy feet. If I manage to play much more in this save (will perhaps get more involved in politics soon) the next season may be the last in Annagh. If the league is as easy that is for certain, if I get a decent team in Ireland. CL football is the only thing keeping me for now. We can't make money except selling players and away in Europe, and no first-teamers want to re-sign. And only about 350 attend our games, despite our success.
If a bigish team in Ireland approach me, I may well take the plunge. Norway - World Cup 2014
Got them to the World Cup after beating Latvia in the play-off.
Lost 0-1 to South Korea and 1-3 to Holland, and were out after 2 games. Beat Peru 4-2 in the last game. Then I resigned.
International management blows hard!

Annagh Utd - Northern Irish Premier Division
Board and fans want Europe, I want the title again.
Brought in 3 talented youngsters for 32K. 23 went out the door for 3.1M, including 1.5M for an extremely talented DL that can't jump.
Last year's season repeated itself, and we had the exact same starting 11. Walked the league and cups, and did well in Europe. Won the league 17 points ahead of Linfield. Beat Ballinamallard Utd 1-0 in the Irish Cup final 1 minute before penalties (phew!), and beat Glentoran 2-0 in the League Cup final. In the All-Ireland Cup we faced Linfield in the final, and beat them 2-0. Have a huge upper hand on them now, only one loss the last 20 or so.
Met FC Haka in the 1st Qual round of the CL. Only got 0-0 away, but hurt them 5-0 at home. Debrecen in the 2nd Qual got beat down 4-0 at their own ground, before losing 2-0 in ours. Got a tough draw with Lille in the 3rd Qual round. We clicked completely at home (although a bit lucky) and destroyed them 5-1. Set up shop away, and managed to luckily draw 1-1.
Annagh Utd were ready for the Champions League group stage! \o/
Here we drew Sporting, Chelsea and Villareal. My goal was 1 point. We got 3 as we drew all home-games (and deserved to beat Sporting). Lost all away games, but worst loss was "only" 4-1. Finished 4th though, so out of Europe.
Last year's topscorer repeated the action, this time with 34 goals. The other striker surprisingly won CL Best Player! eek:
Also got 3 in the CL Dream Team. League: 1st P30 27-3-0 GD 101-11 (+90) 84pts
Champions League: 4th in Group Stage
Irish Cup: Winners
League Cup: Winners
All-Ireland Cup: Winners
20th June 2015 Annagh Utd turned pro!
This means I'll stay on for a while longer, and see how it goes. Players are finally willing to join now, although demanding silly wages.
Had to sell 3 of the club's best players at the end of the season as I didn't want to play the Bosman roulette. It was clear they had no intention of signing new contracts. Both wingers and our star-captain DM had to go. This will probably hurt us, but have gotten in some decent cover for them.
