I was just wondering about 3rd party updates and how people are against them and I thought of this:
Say your computer isn't good enough to run Fm2007, would it no longer be frowned upon to use a third-party update on FM2006 because playing with a team that has a player who has moved away/retired playing well and winning you games is unrealistic, and that is what LLaMa's strive for.
When a new version of the game comes out there may be some discussion on whether guidelines need changing in light of any changes in the new game.
Off the top of my head - scouting may change a little with the new scouting module, I'm sure there will be some discussion on the effects of feeder clubs and staff search may be 'forbidden' if the job centre module gets a going over.
Once the discussion's have been ruled upon by the Mighty Iaj and his inner circle the guidelines may be adjusted to reflect the new consensus.
I doubt very much, however, that 3rd party updates will ever be a part of LLM.
The point you're missing is that you should play the game on its merits. Chances are if you're worried about signing a player who isn't on FM06 you would be using prior knowledge anyways.... The point of LLM is to use the players realistically at your disposal. Chances are 99% of the players you have in a LLM career you have never heard of so theres no point anyways
