I was out of a job for over a month and things were getting worse. I've tried everything, it was time to try somethign new, something fun.
Through a contact of mine in Lancashire England, there was a job going for a Managerial position at a small football club called Ashton United.
I know this meant moving to England for a while, but I had alot of cash saved up so 6 months (or maybe more?) of my life wasn't gonna kill me.
Well anyway, I spoke to a guy called Eric who was the club chairman. He explained the situation to me and stated the club was in dire straits and in need of a new innovative idea to secure finances and stay alive. I knew right then I wasn't going to be paid much, little did I know he wasn't going to pay me anything.
My mate said he would let me stay as his place for as long as I needed and offered me a job at his pub a couple o' nights a week. I accepted of course.
The thing is, I was tuned in when it came to sports science and always had a passion deep down for coaching, if this was going to be my break then fine I accept. I know if I put the effort in something could become of it.
Now, it was time to get informed on the club I knew nothing about, it's players and staff. As instructed by Eric there was no money for transfers or payouts, so I had to make do with the current side and leave ALL contract renewals up to the club regardless if I liked the player or not. I know they wanted me to control the finances but I was thinking they were gonna test the waters with me before they gave me complete control.
First of all, I'd advise you to read the forum header (which you were already told to do).
Second, we do updates, not stories (but you would have known that, if you had read the header).
Third, we have a three-season rule for updates (but you would have known that, if you had read the header).
And last, few here are interested in the updates of a windup merchant.
