I tend to keep a formation that works best for me, that isn't far off standard, and adjust the instructions dependant on the players that I have available.

If I change clubs I take my tactics with me as I feel this to be realistic - some managers like to play certain ways.

I find it better to bend the players to my will, rather than be dictated to dependant on who is available

After all, i'm the 'manager'.

Considering our staff all have preferred formations, it makes sense for us to have them, as well. It's rare that a manager comes in and plays a tactic he's not familiar with at any side.

I'll do that when I join a new club, but will shape the squad over time to the formation I want to play.

Red Clanners will remember my obscene tactic when I started at Libourne - but there's only so much you can do with a squad full of DMs and no strikers.

I prefer the "fit the players into your formation approach. At Inter at the moment I'm using the same formation which served so well earlier in the save (bar the season and a half where it flopped at Benfica and ManUre).

Having an obscene transfer kitty helped no-end as well, of xure.
