Variable Detail is good. After all, you can always ignore it and play it like past versions. But I intend to load many more leagues for my first FM2007 save, allowing me to club or nation-hop without bogging down my computer much.

The new scouting sounds like a tremendous improvement.

Aye, I saw that. Limits both on number of scouts and where you can send them, according to your budget.
Even if no honourable LLaMa would send their scouts to Timbuktu while in Conf N/S, it's still good to know that I won't have to visit the 'Create Friendly Tour' option to find out where to send my minions to.
